North Padre Beaches and the South end of Mustang Island have continued to have red tide for the first part of October 2009. The red tide has killed many fish in addition to making the beach going not to pleasent. Irritation of eyes and respiratory discomfort are part of the beach experience for now.
The cool front that has blown in this week will hopefully blow the red tide out of the local beaches. Local beaches in Corpus Christi and on Corpus Christi beach did not seem affected by red tide when I looked at them today
